Two term ratio- compares two quantities measured in the same units.
example- 2:3
Three term ratio- compares three quantities measured in the same units.
example- 2:3:4
Part to part ratio- compares different parts of a group to another part of the same group.
example- 4:2

rate- compares two quantities measured in different units.
example- 2m/8hr
unit rate- a rate in which the second term is one.
example- 3km/1m
unit price- a unit rate used when shopping.
example- $4/5pencil

Proportional Reasoning:
-a relationship that says that two ratios or two rates are equal.
example- 1/2 = 7/14
