Richard's Pay it Forward

Part 1

What i think paying it forward means is doing an act of kindness knowing that you wouldn't . Doing an act of kindness for someone can make you the next one to be treated good. Doing act of kindness for someone else will know how to do something good for someone else so then bring them to paying it forward.

Part 2

My groups way of paying it forward was to donate and volenteer at the Winnipeg Harvest and Write letters to soldiers, but we couldn't go to Winnipeg Harvest because they didn't call us, telling my group when we were allowed to go there. So we just wrote letters to soldiers in Afganistan. We did an act of kindness for someone on Dec 17th

Part 3

Our plan worked out. Everyone in the group there jobs and helped each other out. I felt good that i wrote letters to soldiers to support them. We didn't ask soldiers to pay it forward because the soldiers already did.

Part 4

The reason for paying it forward is important because it makes everyone happy and makes some people do good things to other people which made people to pay it forward. My group all think our plan worked because it showed them how to do something good to someone.

Lara's Pay it Forward

Part 1 :

Pay it forward is a Movie based on a story . The story is about doing a act of kindness without getting anything in return . In the movie , It all started with a boy named Trevor , who was given a school assignment to try and make a difference . Trevor choose to try and make a difference in the people near him , Causing him to effect those people , to effect more people and more people making the act of kindness go through everyone . Now showing that everyone can effect anyone else if they just made a difference .

Part 2: After watching this movie I thought to myself , What could I do to make a difference ? , Could I do anything to pay it forward ? . So then I got an idea of giving out candy canes to people to in lighten their Christmas Spirit by giving out candy canes with a little card telling what Pay it Forward is . My partner & I , Kim C from 8-14, Decided we would do our act of kindness at Cindy Klassen recreation center on Monday December 20th after school .

Part 3 . After completing our act of kindness , I felt proud of myself for getting smiles on some people's faces when they got their candy canes & card . I actually didn't expect some people asking what our project was also some of the expressions people gave when we told them they were free . Also , at the end of giving our little "gift " to those who were near the area , I made sure that people read what the card say ,which included what pay it forward really was .

Part 4 . After thinking about why is paying it forward important , The thoughts of What we do can effect many people around us .How mostly everyone around us is effected by people's actions around us . So if someone does a good deed and tells another person to pay it forward , it would continue with that chain , helping everyone around them .

Errol's Pay It Forward

Part 1 : What's Pay it Forward
Pay it Forward is an act of kindness that you do and expect nothing in return. Pay it Forward came from a movie called Pay it Forward. The movie was about a boy named Trevor who thinks of the idea for a project, as he tries to change the world.

Part 2
My Pay It Forward act of kindness was to write a letter to a Canadian Soldier to thank him or her.
I chose to do this project because I want to thank the soldier for what he or she's done and to try to make them happy. I wrote the letter to any Canadian soldier. I did my act of kindness on December 18 and 19. I wrote the letter on the 18th and mailed the letter on the 19th.

Part 3
I felt good about thanking someone who is important or did something important. I did not ask the soldier to Pay it Forward because I think they already are Paying it Forward. They're already risking their lives to help the country to keep safe and so people can have freedom.

Part 4
I think the idea of Pay it Forward is important because it will teach people to do nice things and do them without anything in return. This will also make a nicer world. I don't think my act of kindness made a big difference but maybe just a small difference in one soldier's life.

Jocelle's Pay it Forward

Part 1 :

Pay it forward, is doing something nice for 3 people. Those 3 people you have helped/ done something nice for will help another 3 people. It will branch out and the numbers of people you have helped gets bigger and bigger.

Part 2:

For my Pay it Forward project my group, Kristel Aguason, Melanie Ilagan, Allison Manuel and I raised money for Siloam Mission. From Monday to Friday we went around Sargent Park School asking for donations and on Saturday we went to Superstore. In return we gave them candy canes and chocolate to thank them for their kindness in donating to a good cause. We decided to do this so we can help other people who don’t have all their needs met.

Part 3:

While at school we collected around $42. My group and I didn’t think it was much since our goal was $100. While we were at Super Store we stayed by the entrance/exit doors for about 1-2 hours. We made $183! I was extremely happy, and shocked of how well we did in such a short period of time. I didn’t think we would reach our goal but we did and made twice as much as our goal! We have all the money but have not gave it to Siloam Mission. We will sometime during the week. The people who passed us seemed shocked about what we were doing. At the same time, the seemed really glad with what we were doing. There were lots of people giving us ideas on how to attract more people. One man who worked at Super Store told us to say what charity we were giving the money too. One lady told us to write Siloam Mission on our poster. Another lady told us to sing Christmas songs. So we took all of their advice and it did make a difference! The other thing that made a difference was our poster. People would walk by and take a glimpse of our poster. Once they read it they changed their mind and donated. On our poster it said “Make a difference. Pay it forward. We are learning about how one person can make a difference. All proceeds will go to charity” and there was another poster saying it’s all going to Siloam Mission. So I think our act of kindness went very well and I’m proud of what we did.

Part 4:

The idea of Pay It Forward is important because it helps realize that one person can make a difference to a lot of people. I believe that my project did make a difference to the homeless people, because once we donated those money, it helped a couple people to have a meal and have a proper place to sleep for a couple nights.

Part 1
-Pay it forward is when you help friends, strangers without expecting them to help you
back. The people that you help can possibly do the same thing to others and maybe like a chain
reaction and it can cause the world to be better.Like in the movie
Pay It Forward
a boy name Trevor who has been given a project to change the world. What Trevor did was help these three people. The three people he helped can help other people and it can go on and on.

Part 2-
My act of kindness was to write a letter to a Canadian Soldier in Kabul Afghanistan
I did this activity because i wanted to say thanks to the soldier for protecting our country
and were we live I want to do this to appreciation for what the soldiers have done for our country and other.I feel sad for the sold
iers because they are from away from there family
and home for a very long time. The letter i wrote can tell a soldier how much I care and other people in Canada care.

-Sorry about the picture its because i couldn't scroll it down
-The top picture is my writing my letter
-The bottom picture is my giving the letter to my
mom because she was gonna send it for me

-Part 3- I felt really good when my mom sent the letter for me
because it can encourage a soldier to serve our country proudly.
The other thing is i didn't tell them to pay it forward because they already
did keeping us our country safe.A soldier helps more people then i could.

Part 4-The idea to Pay It Forward" is very important because it can change people
lives of many people and can make the place a better place to live for everyone.
Hopefully I wish the soldier see it because i want him to know that i care and encourage them to do what they do is keep us safe. I did this Dec 21/ 2010.

Olivia's Pay it Forward

Part 1
Pay it forward is helping people without expecting them to pay you back. If the people you helped help more people it's like a chain reaction that gets really big. In the movie "Pay It Forward" a boy named Trevor has a project to try and change the world. He decides to help three people. Then those three people can help three more each and so on.

Part 2
For my Pay it Forward act of kindness, my friends Cathlene Concepcion, Lizelle Scott, and I bought food and donated it to the Christmas Cheerboard. We chose to do this because it's the Christmas season, and some people don't have the necessities they need to give their families a good Christmas. We thought everyone deserves to have a good Christmas and it would be kind and in the moral of Christmas to donate food to help them. We helped the Christmas Cheerboard by donating non-parishable food items to them, we bought the food on Saturday, December 18, and delivered it to the Christmas Cheerboard on Sunday, December 19.

Part 3

Our act of kindness went well, they were thankful that we wanted to donate to them and thought that it was sweet. I felt happy that we had a chance to help by donating food and felt good that what we did would help people. The lady who took the donations from us was kind and nice and she took the donations from us thankfully. I didn't ask them to "Pay It Forward" because I forgot, but I knew they would already do that, because they would pass out hampers to those who need them.

Part 4
The idea of "Pay it Forward" is important because if one person helps someone else, that person helps another, and eventually, if the chain keeps going and people keep helping other people, a lot of people's lives can be changed and we can make a difference for the good, in the world. My/our act of kindness has made a difference because, the food we donated will go to someone who needs it.

Paulo Aviles's Pay It Forward

I helped the Sargent Park Schools janitor names Sonny

What did you do?
My group Ishaka Jordan, Karl Naoe, Patrick Arica, Louis Dela Pena, Carl Jamora, and I split up with 2 groups with 3 people we had our own duties. I had to clean the water fountain and a little bit cleaning the toilets.

When did you do your act of kindness?
I did my act of kindness on December 17, 2010

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r-8BTMSKAk&feature=player_embedded

Part 3

How did your act of kindness go?
My act of kindness went really good and Sonny was really happy and thankful. I thought cleaning the school would be easy but its not. We actually had alot of fun.

What happened?
Well nothing happened we cleaned the classrooms, washrooms, and the hallways.

How did you feel?
I felt really happy because I got to help clean the school I go to and I think my group really help Sonny alot.

How did the person/people react?

Sonny was really happy to see kids working together and cleaning the they go to.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
When we cleaned all the places my friends and myself ask Sonny to "Pay It Forward".

Part 4

Why is the idea of "Pay It Forward" important?
I think "Pay It Forward" is important because if we help each we can make the world a better place for the future.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
I think act of kindness made a difference because it is really hard to clean the school every single even weekends.

Pay It Forward

Part 1

Pay it forward is doing a random act of kindness for someone, without expecting anything else in return. The idea comes from a movie called "Pay it Forward" about a boy whose teacher assigns the class to do a good deed to change the world. This boy does a good deed for his teacher and asks him to pay it forward and do something nice for someone else. This sets off a chain reaction of kindness.

Part 2

For Pay it Forward I volunteered at our church's food bank on Gertrude St., on Monday, Dec. 20. I wanted to do this as my project because my dad is involved and I like to meet new people. This food bank is held every other Monday and there are 27 people that attend. The same people attend every time and they line up at the door and at 6:00pm we let everybody in to get their number. Whoever is there first gets number one and goes to get their food first.
Pierre and Simone are the Food Bank Coordinators

This time I helped in the bread and dessert station where people take one loaf of bread and choose one dessert item. While I was working, my mouth was just watering over some yummy glazed cinnamon rolls. Mmmm, my favorite! At this station, my job was to tell people what they could and could not take. This was also the last station, so I got to wish them a Merry Christmas and say good-bye.

Part 3

While people were waiting for their food they could sit around tables and eat goodies and drink coffee. They have become friends with one another. I thought it was neat how all of us were like a community in that we all care for each other and we return dignity and respect to the people who are sometimes forgotten by society. I was surprised how friendly and grateful everyone was.
I think if I couldn't provide for my family and had to use a food bank I would feel guilt and shame. I hope that volunteering at this food bank and encouraging these people can strengthen their dignity and bring them joy and peace.

Part 4

I think paying it forward is important because it encourages people to live for more than just themselves. I think this project helped me realize that it's not all about me, but that there are others that really need love and support.

Kristel's Pay it Forward

Part 1:
Pay it forward is doing an act of kindness to help someone else and not expecting anything in return. Part 2:
For my Pay it Forward project my group, Melanie Ilagan, Jocelle Garcia, Allison Manuel and I raised money for Siloam Mission. Everyday weekday we went around Sargent Park School asking for donations and on Saturday we went to Superstore. In return we gave them candy canes and chocolate to thank them for their kindness in donating to a good cause. We decided to do this so we can help other people who can’t don’t have all their needs met.

Part 4:
The idea of “Pay it Forward” is important because it shows us that one person CAN make a difference and nothing is impossible. I know my act of kindness will make a difference as soon as my group and I give the money to Siloam Mission. It will allow a few homeless people to have a meal to eat and a safe place to sleep and a shelter to stay for a while. It will mean a lot to them especially because it’s almost Christmas and everyone deserves to be happy.

Pay It Forward

Part 1

What is Pay It Forward?

Pay It Forward is an action of one individual helping another person without wanting or expecting anything back. Pay It Forward is also a movie where a boy first introduce the idea of Pay It Forward, One person helps 3 people without wanting anything back, the 3 people each help 3 others and so on. This movie shows how person can make a difference and how the idea of Pay It Forward can multiply 1 to 3 to 9 and maybe even t
he whole world.

Part 2

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness.

My group Lizelle, Olivia, and I thought of many ways to Pay It Forward to different people. Our idea was to bake cookies or/and give out small toys like teddy bears, read a book, and also explain to them the idea of Pay It Forward to children in the hospitals either staying in the hospital through Christmas or their for a small period of time. But one of the workers in the hospital told us that we need special permission to do this activity with the children, and that we had to wait until M
onday or Tuesday for us to have the permission. So Instead we decided to donate food to the Christmas Cheer Board for people who are not fortunate enough to have a good meal on Christmas Day.

Why did you choose this activity?

We choose both of these activity so we can bring joy to people on Christmas Day,even though our first idea was not successful the last went very well.

Who did you help?

In our idea of paying it forward we helped the Christmas cheer board on giving people food to eat on Christmas day.

What did you do?

We donated $20 each for us to buy the food and be able to give it to the Christmas Cheer board.
We bought none perishable foods in Dollarama and some that where found in my house. We brought the food on Sunday to the Christmas cheer board, and gave it to one of the workers who thanked us an also gave us a paper (the one on the video) that said thank you!.

When did you do you act of kindness?

We bought the food on December 18, 2010 and brought it to the Christmas Cheer board on December 19, 2010

Part 3

How did your act of kindness go?

Our activity was successfully and hopefully brought joy to the people that will be receiving food on Christmas Day.

What Happened?

After giving them the foods a lady thanked us with a smile on her face and gave us a paper that said thank you.

How did you feel?

I felt a warm feeling and happiness knowing i helped give a family food to eat that they cannot afford

How did the person or people react?

The lady that thanked us had a smile on her face when she received the bag of foods
Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?

No we did not. We told the lady that we had a project called Pay It Forward and we explained the activity to her. She is a person that works to help sort the foods and box them, so I think she already paid it forward to many families.
How did they react to your request?

Part 4

Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?

This Idea is very important because it is helping many people and maybe one day the help or kindness will come back to you.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?

Yes I think the activity we choose have made a difference because it gave families food for them to eat and enjoy! <3
