Scribe 5.

I have to do questions number: 18 and 20 and 22 on page 86.

Alright, let's get started. (:

Question #18.




If you can't really see that, the question states.
A floor mat for gymnastics is a square with a side length of 14. What is the area of the floor mat in square meters?
One of the methods that you can use to find this problem out is:
Drawing it.



So, It said a side length is 14, right.
So we would show it like this:

This is the formula to find the area

If you can not read that, or unable to read that.
The formula is:
SxS=A
14x14=196
196=Area

A=Area.
S=Side.

So the answer to question 18. -
A floor mat for gymnastics is a square with a side length of 14. What is the area of the floor mat in square meters?

is - 196 metres squared.


Question 20:
If you don't like how it says. It states:

Adam’s uncle has instructions for building
a shed. One page of the instructions,
shown below, is not very clear.

a) What is the area of the rectangle?
b) What is the side length of the square?


The formula to get the area is :

SxS=A
4x9=36
36=A

A=Area
S=Side.


What is the area of a square:

The area of a square is: 6 cm



Question 22:



If you can't read that , it says :

The world’s largest city square is
Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China.
It has an area of 396 900 m2.

a) What are the dimensions of the square?

b) If the square had dimensions of 629 m
by 629 m, what would be the area?

c) If the square had an area less than
394 000 m2 and greater than
386 000 m2, what are all of the
possible whole number dimensions
that it could have?


I looked and looked and asked many questions, but I do not know how to get the dimensions, I am very sorry about this, but I can not find it anywhere, I am very very sorry.

  5. Nice job Jocelyn! Wow, long! I liked how you added the photo wiith the tag and the border around it. But maybe also use larger words. And add a little reminder because that really helps people with them knowing what they have to do.

  7. Great job Jocelyn! I liked your pictures, even though some were a little bit small. I liked how you used bold and italics for impportant information, because my eyes locked onto it quickly. Also, I liked how you explained what the question was when the picture that contained the question, was a little bit small too read. However, I didn;t understand how you got the area of the square when you got the area of the rectangle. Despite my confusions, I enjoyed reading this post. (Y)

    Your pictures were really good.
    For number 18 and 20, I got the same answers as you .
    For the last one, I asked my mommy and auntie what the dimension of a square would be, and they said, " the size " .
    A)So if the area was 396 900, the dimension would be 630m by 630m because 630(squared) equals to 396 900.
    B) 629m by 629m = 395 641 .
    l(length)x w(width) = area
    629 x 629 = 395 641
    C) 625m x 625m = 390 625 . It is less than 394 00 .
