10% of $66= $6.60
So, 1% of 66= $ 0.66
b)
5% of 180
10% of 180=18
So, 5% of 180= 9
c)

To calculate the percent of a number, write the percent as a decimal and then multiply by the number.
3
a) 200% of 4500 is 9000
I divided 200 by 100 and got 2, then multiply 2 by 4500 and got 9000
b) 0.1% of 600 is 0.6
I divided 0.1 by 100 and got 0.001, then multiply 0.001 by 600 and got 0.6
c) 1 1/4% of 80 is 1
I divided 1 1/4 to 100 and got 0.0125, then multiply 0.0125 by 80 and got 1
d) 30% of 70 is 210
I divided 30 by 10 and got 3, then multiply 3 by 70 and got 210
e) 4/5% of 15 is .012
I divided 4/5 by 100 and got 0.008, then multiply 0.008 by 15 and got 0.12
f) 450% of 300 is 1350
I divided 450 by 100 and 4.5, then multiply 4.5 by 300 and got 1350

Kevin's Homework Book Scribe Post
My pages were 36 to 39, I only did the evens.

Page 36
2. Shade hundred grids to represent each percent.
A)This i
s 3%

B)This is 46%
C)This is 97%

4.Show as repeating decimals.
A) 0.3333333 = 0.3 (with the bar on top, I can't seem to put it on top.)
B)0.4545454 = 0.45
C)0.2727272 = 0.27
6. Estimate each percent of a number.
I don't know how to do this so yea .
-. , if you guys could put what you did in the comment section that would be greatly appreciated.
Pg 38 + 39
2. To represent a fractional percent greater than 1%, shade part of one square on a hundred grid.
4. To represent a fractional percent between 0% and 1%, shade squares from a hundred grid to show the whole numb
er and part of one square to show the fraction.
6. What percent is represented by each diagram if a completely shaded grid represents 100%.
A)145 and seven eights
B) 156%
C)seven twelfths
8. Represent the percent in each statement on a grid provided.
A) A tax is 6 and one half percent.

Mt. Everest is about 146% the height of Mt. Logan.

Well, that's the end of my scribe post.

Carl's Homeworkbook Scibe Post
I have chosen to do the questions 4,7, and 8 in the homework book on page 33.
4. 6m2-1m2=h
36m-1m=35m
✓35m=5.9m
The ladder reaches 5.9m up the wall.
7. width=17cm
length=26cm
diagonal line=31cm
17cm2+26cm2=31cm2
289cm+676cm=961cm.
The quadrilateral is not a rectangle because 289cm +676cm does not equal 961cm, it equals 965.
8. 20 km/h for 10h west equals 200km
20 km/h for 7 1/2h south equals 150km
200km2 +150km2=?
40,000km + 22,500km= 62500km
✓62,500km =250km2
The ship is 250km away from the port.

2. Use the relationship to determine the length of C in each triangle, to the nearest whole number. Show your work.
a)
4. What is the length of each hypotenuse, to the nearest centimeter? Show you work.
a)
c² = a² + b²
c² = 8² + 9²
c² = 64 + 81
c = √145
c = 12cm (nearest centimeter)
b)
c² = a² + b²
c² = 6² + 10²
c² = 36 + 100
c = √136
c = 12cm
6. Find the height of a triangle with a base of 4 cm and a hypotenuse of 11 cm. Round to the nearest tenth of a centimeter. Show your work.
a² + b² = c²
a² + 4² = 11²
a² + 16 = 121
a² + 16 -16 = 121 - 16
a² = 105
a² = √105
a = 10.2cm
8. Ellie and Lucas are going the skateboard park to try out the new ramp. Is the new ramp a right triangle? Explain your thinking.
a² + b² = c²
2² + 3² = 5²
4 + 9 = 13
13 ≠ 15 (5²)
No, it is not a right triangle because it doesn't equal the hypotenuse/5².
a)

c² + d² = e²
c² + 24² = 26²
c² + 576 =676
c² + 576 - 576 = 676 - 576
c² = 100
c = √100
c = 10m
b)
b² + a² = c²
b² + 15² = 39²
b² + 225 = 1521
b² + 225 - 225 = 1521 - 225
b² = 1296
b = √1296
b = 36cm
c² + 24² = 26²
c² + 576 =676
c² + 576 - 576 = 676 - 576
c² = 100
c = √100
c = 10m
b)
b² + a² = c²
b² + 15² = 39²
b² + 225 = 1521
b² + 225 - 225 = 1521 - 225
b² = 1296
b = √1296
b = 36cm
a)
c² = a² + b²

c² = 8² + 9²
c² = 64 + 81
c = √145
c = 12cm (nearest centimeter)
b)
c² = a² + b²
c² = 6² + 10²
c² = 36 + 100
c = √136
c = 12cm
6. Find the height of a triangle with a base of 4 cm and a hypotenuse of 11 cm. Round to the nearest tenth of a centimeter. Show your work.
a² + b² = c²

a² + 4² = 11²
a² + 16 = 121
a² + 16 -16 = 121 - 16
a² = 105
a² = √105
a = 10.2cm

2² + 3² = 5²

4 + 9 = 13
13 ≠ 15 (5²)
No, it is not a right triangle because it doesn't equal the hypotenuse/5².
