Hello, my name is Hanna and I'm a grade 8 math student at Sargent Park School. If someone asked me whether or not I like math, I would say that it depends. That's because there are many things that I like about math but also much that I dislike. Like, for example, I really like algebra but when it comes to division...I'm just not very good. To me, Math hasn't been much of an exciting subject. No matter how much I think, I can't seem to recall something that I really looked forward to. The only thing that I can actually remember right now that I kind of anticipated was when we had to cut open an orange for math related purposes. I had thought that it would've been quite fun but it ended up as a big letdown.
Last year, in grade 7, the unit that I enjoyed most was algebra. Though I'm not 100% sure if this unit was what I was best at, to me, it certainly was the most fun out of all of them! In my opinion, this unit was actually quite easy and was pretty simple too but, to be honest, it wasn't like this from the start. When my class first started this unit, I had an extremely difficult time understanding algebra but, as time went by and more explaining was done by the teacher, algebra gradually became easy. Hopefully, the same thing happens for my most disliked unit: dividing decimals. I HATE dividing decimals! Even before they added the decimals, I had been extremely awful at this. Yes, I admit that calculators were allowed to solve the questions but, what if, at some point in my life, I had to divide decimals and wasnt able to access a calculator? What a nightmare! Hopefully, I'll be able to improve at division by the time I become old.
Now that I'm in grade 8, I'm going to finish all my home work and ask questions whenever I'm not sure about something. I'll also pay attntion in class though that shouldn't be hard at all. Last year, I lost tons of marks during term 2 all because I hadn't completed all of my assignment so I want to change that this year. There isn't much that I want to learn this year other than algebra because, if I hadn't already mentioned, I LIKE algebra. I'm also pretty sure that we'll all be learning about the pythagorean theory this year but I'm not really interested in that. As long as I'm learning about math, I'm fine with it I guess.
In grade 7, I was taught how to blog on Blogger and had made a total of 2 posts in all. My first post is quite simple and is about Number of the Day and the textbook homework we had that day. The second post that I had created was about a homework package that was to be handed in and an exam review. I think that I had done a better job on the second post than the first. That's probably because I had done it before so I had a bit of experience. The blog has, in my opinion, helped me alot especially when it came to homework and studying for tests. By using the blog, I was able to catch up with my work by completing assignments. Hopefully, this blog will help me as much as it did last year!
Great job Hanna! I liked how you make some words LARGE and slanted (italic) to emphasize them. Although they weren't bolded, I was able to notice them when I skimmed throught the paragrapghs. Good job!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Hannah. I really liked your post. You're explainations had lots of detail and I like how you put some words all capitalized and slanted. Just like Ryan said, it put some emotion into your blog. Even though your paragraphs had some length to it, I really enjoyed reading it. Great work!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Hanna! I like how you gave detail to explain your thoughts but maybe next time, don't include as much because your post was quite long. I also like how you included a link to both of your posts which is something I should have done. Like the others said, it was nice that you italicized and capitalized some words. Keep up the excellent work!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post! It was detailed and contained explanations for your thoughts but your post was a bit long. You included 2 links which is awesome. This was a very good post. :)
ReplyDeleteHanna, I honestly really liked this. I really liked how you made it really entertaining to read and it made me giggle a little bit. I also like how you were being totally honest with your post. Good job Hanna! (:
ReplyDeleteHanna, I REALLY loved the post man, it explained so much about your math life. I especially liked how you thought about last year. But i thing caught my attention "I'll also pay attntion in class though that shouldn't be hard at all." You misspelled attention. BUT even so great, great post.
ReplyDeleteP.S Be more sociable (no offence)don't be afraid to socialize with other people.
Good Job Hanna! I like your blog being so long because that means you took your time creating it. Keep it up
ReplyDeleteNice Job Hanna!I learned many things about you, like your name doesn't have an "H" at the end of your name.I also like the fact you posted not one,but TWO links!Great Job brawh:)
ReplyDeleteGood job Hanna, you explained everything neatly and it was all organized. I like how you said for your goals that you "will" do your homework instead of try to do your homework, that's really good. I think you're all ready for grade 8, you already know about something called pythoderia? Keep up the great work Hanna, you're gonna do really well this year, just like last year. (:
ReplyDeletegood job Hanna! that post was very detailed and well explained. This post was really good because it told us how it will effect you if the time come that you need to divide units. really like how you used capital letters to express your feeling of math. Next time don't make the post so big, but it was very detailed!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Hanna, Your blog was very detailed and well explained. I can see you took your time because its pretty long. Anyways keep up that good work.
ReplyDeleteGood job Hanna! I liked how big and long your paragraphs were. You also explained eveything with good grammar and correct punctuation and speeling. So over all great job!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding job, Hanna ! Your blog was really well done. I like how you changed how your font was. I think you'll reach your goals, because you're a smart student ! Keep it up !
